ClickThe toque is from two different patterns in the book, with the side from #2 on pages 36-37 and the top from #1 pages 34-35.
Used old Patons "Classic Wool", knitting worsted weight with size 4.5 mm needles. For the side, I repeated the pattern one extra to make 5 design instead of 4.
This hat was made for my mother, to match her new winter jacket in the same colours. Also made her a solid colour tube scarf in the burnt orange.

Used old Patons "Ballybrae", knitting worsted weight with size 4.5 mm needles.
When I originally bought the book and made this hat in 1997, it was before errors were discovered in the charts. I tried to finish the top but the chart was wrong and it never has laid flat.
It is a very eye-catching hat, made for a male friend who wears it with flare.

ClickPair of mitts I designed to match the scarf. I really did not have a pattern, just designed on the fly. The photo on the right is the top of the mitten. It turned out really neat with the decreases, forming an interesting pattern from both the front, back, and top.

I used old Brunswick "Icelandic" wool which is a bulky weight. I really like the ear flaps as they keep my ears so warm.
