TUBE SCARF PATTERN Photo follows the pattern.
Knit this scarf in random stripes, or the same length stripes. The scarf shown in the photo is random stripes in 1 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch lengths and the shades of blue in no particular order.
I have made another scarf in red, white, and blue with each stripe 3 inches in length and the colours as white, red, white, blue thus using more white.
Supplies:
Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch (but gauge is not really important, it is a scarf)
- 100 gm worsted weight yarn in each colour you use - I used four shades of blue
- 4.5 mm DPN's (Double Pointed Needles)
With colour A cast on 40 stitches, and join in a circle being careful not to twist.
Continue to knit in colour A until you want to change. Make the stripes as long or short as you want.
When changing colours, tie a really good knot, leave tails about 2-3 inches, and hide inside the tube. You do not need to weave in the ends.
The scarf can be as long or short as you want, just keep knitting. The scarf in the photo is 83 inches long.
When done, cast off, sew the edge together.
Sew the cast on edge together. Add a fringe if you want.
