QUANAH AND FRIENDS - STORIES
Part Six

Quanah grew up without any brothers and sisters to play with, and to learn to fight with. When kittens play and fight, they learn what it feels like to bite and scratch. But because Quanah did not have any brothers and sisters to play with, he did not know that when he bit and scratched it hurt. So he had to be taught by Mr. and Mrs. W not to be so rough when he played. They gave him a toy kitten to play with, so Quanah could bite and scratch his toy and not hurt anyone.

As he got older, Quanah became more friends with the other cats that lived with Mr. and Mrs. W. He became very good friends with Red who weighed 25 pounds and liked to run around the house with Quanah and play hide and seek. Misty also became his friend and they would play tag, running around the house, chasing each other. But sometimes Quanah would play too rough and make Misty cry. Then Mrs. W would tell them to play nice and not hurt each other.

(Note: Red went to the Rainbow Bridge August of 2001)

Quanah had a favourite game that he liked to play. Mrs. W would make a ball from a plastic shopping bag, and then would throw this ball up the stairs. Quanah would chase the ball up the stairs. If the ball landed on a step, and did not roll back down for Mrs. W to throw again, Quanah would hit it with his paw, and make the ball roll back down the stairs.

End of Part Six.
