QUANAH AND FRIENDS - STORIES
Part Four
Because Quanah had been raised by Mr. and Mrs. W, and he thought he was a people, he did not fear anything. He had never been hurt or scared. He had no fear, and he also trusted everyone. This was a problem sometime, especially when Quanah wanted to go outside in the nice weather. He had to be watched all the time, so that he did not run out onto the street and get hit by a car. He was not allowed to go outside on his own and play because he would go to anyone, and someone might steal him.
But of course he did not know this, and thought that he was a big boy, and could go out when he wanted. He also thought he could do anything he wanted, and not have to listen to Mr. and Mrs. W.
Mr. W was a teacher, and had classes in his house. People would come for the classes and Quanah would join them. He even had his own chair. Everyone liked Quanah. Sometimes if Quanah wanted to go outside for a walk, and Mr and Mrs. W were too busy to take him out, Quanah would wait until a visitor came to the door, and then he would sneak outside. This was not a good thing to do because he could get lost.
Quanah did not like Mr. W to go out and leave him at home. If he saw Mr. W putting on his coat and shoes, Quanah would run down to the basement and hide. Sometimes if he saw Mr. W getting ready to go out without him, he would also meow so it sounded like he was crying, and then run and hide in the basement.
If Mr. W went out for a long time, Quanah would run around the house looking for him. And he would cry for him.
End of Part Four.
